About this site

Hello!Profile picture

Welcome to Product Management Exercises!

I have created this website as a free resource to help product managers sharpen their PM skills and prepare for PM job interviews.

Here is how the site works:

I post job interview product management exercises on the blog and invite readers to submit their answers to the exercises and to post their thoughts on each other’s solutions. The exercises are all real PM job interview questions that have been asked by the recruiters in companies such as Google, Facebook, and Lyft. I select the exercises from readers’ suggestions, Glassdoor, and my own online search.

The idea behind this website is to encourage diversity of thoughts in the different ways people approach a problem and allow for ideas to be challenged and improved upon.

If you also have any PM exercises you’d like to me post on the site, email them to me or post them on the comments section of this page.

The exercises are only as good as their answers. I encourage you all to contribute your thoughts.

  1. Hey, just wanted to let you know that your website is really helpful. I am preparing myself for interviews and even if I do not comment the different questions I train myself to answer to them.

Thanks a lot for sharing 🙂

  2. You have a grocery delivery service which delivers food within 24 hours.
Estimate how many trucks you need to operate this service.

      1. Thank you. Some other interesting problems for your consideration.

What innovative new product can make park gatherings be more social, with strangers?

Build a product to solve the dog poop problem.

What new products can prevent flat tires in cars or bikes?

    1. There is a link on the right side of the page (on desktop) or bottom of the page (on mobile) asking you to join the Slack channel. Click on that link.

  3. Hi Bijan,

There are a few questions that I have. It will be great if you could post them.

Q1: What are the important metrics a PM for a luxury goods ecommerce website look at?
Q2: How would you design an order fulfillment solution for an ecommerce website? What are the metrics of success?

  4. Hi Bijan,
I think that these would be good FB questions to incude:

Q1: You are the PM of FB 3rd party login, and you see your numbers are declining 2% week-on-week. What do you do?
Q2: You are the PM of FB Live Video – how do you measure success?
Q3: You’re the PM for Facebook live. What are your priorities?

  5. Could you add these questions please?
    1. How would you build a product on Facebook to celebrate someone’s birthday?
    2. Imagine we’d made the decision to build the profile verification checkmark on Facebook. How would you define it’s success?
